Further development of Centre for Cross-Cultural and Korean studies, and Training plans for Experts in Korean and Cross-Cultural Studies at the University of Split

Nature:

Research and teaching support project (research and publishing material in the area of Cross-Cultural studies, Mediterranean and Far East Comparative Studies in Literature, Arts and Film). Establish, develop and maintain the network and infrastructure for training of scholars, teachers and graduate students in Cross-Cultural and Korean Studies. Publishing the Cross-Cultural Studies Review, the international journal in Cross-Cultural, Mediterranean and Korean (Far East) studies.

Name:

Establishment of the Institute of Korean Studies and Training Plans for the Experts of Koreanology at the University of Split in Croatia

Nature:

Research and teaching support project (research in the areas of cross-cultural studies, Mediterranean and Far East comparatives studies in literature, arts, and film), and a network for training of teachers and scholars in Korean Studies.

Project activities:

• Establishment and maintenance of the Centre for Cross-Cultural and Korean Studies
• Development of Korean and Korea related Cross-Cultural Courses (language, film, contemporary society, history)
• Development of Research Activities and young researchers in areas related to Cross-Cultural and Korea topics.
• Publishing the Cross-Cultural Studies Review (with a major Section on Cross-Cultural Korea).
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships and scholarly exchanges with major Korean Universities and Art Galleries and Museums (Yonsei University, HUFS University, Inha University, Open University of Korea, Busan University of Foreign Studies, Nam June Paik Art Center).
• Organize and participate in Academic conferences, Film Festivals, and other Korea and Cross-Cultural related academic and community outreach activities.
• Remain and establish one of the leading roles in CEPUS Network of Korean Studies departments and academics from Central and Eastern Europe.
• Publish academic articles on Cross-Cultural and Korea-related topics in WoS and Scopus journals.

Initial Seed Grant from KSPS: from 2018-2021
