The Cross-Cultural Studies Review (CCSR) follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) on copyright and licensing as well as Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) open-access guidelines.
All articles are published under an open-access license. CCSR opts for an Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs CC BY-NC-ND license
. This allows for immediate free access to the work so the work can be read, downloaded, copies, distributed, printed, and searched. However, the article cannot be changed nor used commercially. Articles can also be linked, crawled for indexing purposes, passed as data for software, or used for other legal purposes.
CCSR is a "green" publisher and thus allows for the self-archiving of all articles through its open-access policy. Authors retain the copyright to their work which can be archived in personal or institutional repositories without permission from the journal or publisher.
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission from copyright holders for reproducing any translations, illustrations, tables, figures or lengthy quotations previously published elsewhere (all quotations, titles, names, and dates should be double-checked for accuracy).
In order to preserve the material published by the journal, print copies are sent to major repositories and metadata is submitted to various archives, databases and other repositories such as Hrčak and the Internet Archive.
The journal welcomes submissions from all authors without restriction. Registration is not required for access to or publication in the journal, and no fees are charged to authors at any stage of the process. The journal does not pay honoraria to authors.
